1. Position Vacant – Learning Support Officer / Teacher Aide

St. Francis Xavier Primary School  Ballarat East has an exciting employment opportunity in our  Learning Diversity Team.

Contract Type: Contract Position Part Time (0.6 FTE)

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant within a primary school environment for an LSO role that will work collaboratively with other LSO staff, students, parents and teachers under the direction of the Deputy Principal – Learning Diversity to work with students with additional needs at the school.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and experience working with, students with trauma, ASD (autism), ADHD, language disorders and physical, intellectual or emotional issues.

This position is for the 2021 school year.

2. Position Vacant – School Administration Officer

St. Francis Xavier Primary School  Ballarat East has an exciting employment opportunity in our school office.

Contract Type: Contract Position Part Time (0.60 FTE)

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

The School Administration Officer is a person who is welcoming and friendly, shows initiative and the ability to be both organized and flexible in the work situation.  The School Administration Officer must be able to work well in a small team and interact effectively with both children and adults, showing discretion and respecting confidentiality. This role is a support position to the School Administration Officer and School Finance Officer.

Knowledge of financial procedures and a willingness to learn in this area will be a developing component of the role. The following points are an indication of the expected duties.

The successful applicant will require:

  • a warm, positive, caring and welcoming presence in the School Community
  • an ability to work with a dedicated team
  • effective interpersonal and organisational skills
  • knowledge of financial procedures and /or a willingness to learn in this area

We have vacancies at our school for an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Pathologist commencing January 2021:

  1. 0. 5 FTE Fixed Term  Occupational Therapist Position until January 2022
  2. 0. 5 FTE Fixed Term  Speech Pathologist Position until January 2022

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Occupational Therapists to:

  1. Provide support to the school leadership team, individual staff and/or other key stakeholders to enhance access and learning outcomes for students with impairments.
  2. Provide advice regarding educational needs and current best-practice in the area of Occupational Therapy.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Speech Pathologist to:

  1. Provide support to the school leadership team, individual staff and/or other key stakeholders to enhance access and learning outcomes for students with communication impairments.
  2. Provide advice regarding educational needs and current best-practice in the area of Speech Pathology.

The salary range for these positions is $69,817 – $90,883 per annum (ESO Subdivision 3 or 4) and is classified under the Education Support Officer Category B scale of the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018. Superannuation contribution in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee Legislation is in addition to this salary payment. Professional working hours apply to this position and other conditions as per the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

The successful Occupational Therapist applicant will have well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to consult effectively and manage multiple stakeholder interests whilst working collaboratively within a team. You will have knowledge in developing school/home based programs for students with sensory impairments, developmental delays and attention issues, maintain an awareness of recent developments in the management of impairments in school aged children and the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of assessment, treatment and progress. Support will be provided to graduates who may not have extensive experience.

The successful Speech Pathologist applicant will have well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to consult effectively and manage multiple stakeholder interests whilst working collaboratively within a team. You will have knowledge in developing school/home based programs for students with communication impairments, maintain an awareness of recent developments in the management of communication impairments in school aged children and the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of assessment, treatment and progress. Support will be provided to graduates who may not have extensive experience.

Experience in a school based environment will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will be subject to a Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check.
