Physical Education

Our school celebrates not only the importance of physical activity to overall health and wellbeing, but also for teaching important life skills. At St Francis Xavier Primary School, we aim to provide all children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports to enhance their ability to work as part of a team and interact with others in positive and fair manner.

St Francis Xavier Primary School uses the Fundamental Motor Skills Program in a variety of activities to develop specific skills including striking, punting, dodging, catching, throwing, running and kicking. The program is supported by:

  • Bluearth Foundation – working with schools and communities to build movement into every day life.
  • The Complete PE Program – working on major games, and developing teamwork and game-sense skills.

In addition, there are Inter-House sports competitions, such as the annual athletics carnival and Great Race Cross Country Challenge.
